Harold & Don Reid of the Statler Brothers, Jimmy Fortune
and the duo Grandstaff (Wil & Langdon Reid)
What a thrill it was to host this show celebrating the long and celebrated career of the Statler Brothers! Just weeks ago it was announced that they are among the newest inductees to the coveted Country Music Hall of Fame. Harold Reid and Don Reid of the group talked with us about their new book, "Random Memories". It's full of great behind-the-scenes stories about the career of the Statler Brothers. Jimmy Fortune of the group, the only one who is not retired, performed two of the hits he wrote as a member of the Statler Brothers. And Harold and Don's sons, Wil and Langdon, performed a tribute song to their dad's careers.
Oh, and if you see that "doughnut" looking thing by Lorianne in one of the photos, that's a souvenir the Statler Brothers signed and presented to her many years ago. It's a hemorrhoid cushion! Harold says it's supposed to be a good luck charm...a wish that Lorianne and Charlie will be sitting on the interview couch doing TV shows for many years to come. So far, the lucky cushion is working!
