GRAND PRIZE CRUMBLY APPLE PIE

A grand prize winning recipe
Ingredients:
1/2 cup white sugar
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
a pinch of salt, about 1/8 tsp
5 cups thin apple slices (Steve uses Golden Delicious)
1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 cup sifted flour
1/3 cup butter
 
Directions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

1.  Mix white sugar, cinnamon, salt and apple slices in large bowl. Arrange in pie shell and set aside.

2.  In a clean bowl, blend brown sugar and flour; cut in butter with pastry blender or fork until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples. Bake on bottom shelf of oven for 35 minutes. Serve plain or with whipped cream or ice cream.
