CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

from Jennifer Hanson
Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup butter (2 sticks), room temperature
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 ¼ cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups milk chocolate chips (or semi-sweet if you prefer)
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

1.  Cream the butter in a large bowl either by hand or with an electric mixer.

2.  Add brown sugar and sugar, mixing 5 to 7 minutes to thoroughly combine.

3.  Mix in vanilla extract. Add eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition.

4.  Add flour, baking soda, and salt mixing until batter is smooth and creamy.

5.  Add chocolate chips, and nuts if desired. Spoon dollops of cookie dough onto non-stick baking sheets and bake until golden brown, approximately 8 - 12 minutes, depending on your oven.

NOTE: We served the hot cookies right out of the oven on top of a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
